Five for ImPressing: Teresa Queiròs

Nome, cognome, età e da quanto scatta fotografie?

Mi chiamo Teresa Queiròs ed ho ventitre anni.

Il mio interesse per la fotografia è iniziato circa sei anni fa, ma soltanto recentemente ho iniziato a prenderlo seriamente.

La sua attrezzatura?

Ho una Zenit-11 e una Canon 400D. Uso di più la Zenit-11, a meno che non sia al verde e non possa comprarmi la pellicola. E’ uno strazio. Allora uso la mia Canon. Tranne questo, la pellicola è decisamente migliore.

Cos’è per lei la fotografia?

Significa molto. Sono molto appassionata, è diventata ormai parte di me. E’ quasi una droga in questo momento. Alle volte sono proprio ossessionata, perdo il senso del tempo editando le mie foto, spreco i soldi che non ho per comprare i rullini. Metto la fotografia davanti ad altre cose importanti della mia vita. Sono straordinariamente eccitata quando sto per scattare e quando sto sviluppando. Mi deprimo se passo tempo senza il contatto della mia macchina fotografica. E’ decisamente una delle mie più grandi passioni.

I suoi soggetti preferiti?

Per lo più mi piace fotografare le persone. Trovo la natura umana – con i suoi difetti e le sue manie – molto interessante grazie alla sua complessità. Mi piace quando qualcuno è onesto di fronte l’obiettivo – non è facile trovare certe persone. Alla fine, però, il mio soggetto favorito è la luce. Non si può fotografare senza di essa. In più, mi piacciono i bagliori di luce, sono così magici.

Cosa fa quando non scatta foto?

Sono un’aspirante attrice. Sfortunatamente al momento non sono parte di nessun progetto, ma presto non sarà più così. Mi piace anche cantare e ballare e scrivere sui miei piccoli block notes. Oltre questo amo passare il mio tempo con la famiglia e gli amici, anche se mi piace molto (e alle volte lo trovo necessario) passare il mio tempo da sola.

Qual è la foto che sogna di scattare?

Non ne ho la minima idea. Cambio interessi e stili velocemente ed è difficile sognare di scattare una certa fotografia, quando sono cosciente che il mio sogno potrebbe cambiare in alcuni mesi, oppure, addirittura, domani. Quindi non lo sogno affatto. Desidero semplicemente crescere come fotografa e fare meglio. Sogno di essere brava come alcuni fotografi, le cui foto mi sono di ispirazione.

Un fotografo che ci consiglia di tenere d’occhio?
Non c’è speranza che ve ne possa consigliare uno solamente. Ce ne sono così tanti. Provo a consigliarvene alcuni:

Name, Surname, Age and how long have you been taking photos?

My name is Teresa Queirós, I'm 23 years old.

My interest in photography began about 6 years ago, but it was only recently that I've been taking it more seriously.

What cameras do you work with?

I have a Zenit-11 and a Canon 400D. I use my Zenit-11 the most, unless I'm broke and I can't really buy film, which always sucks, only then I use my Canon. Other than that, film rocks!!

What does photography mean to you?

Oh, it means a great deal! I'm very passionate about it nowadays, it became part of me and it's almost like an addiction, now. Sometimes I really obsess over it. I lose track of time while editing, I waste money that I don't have to buy film, I put it in front of many other important things in my life, I get massively excited when I'm about to shoot and when I'm waiting for the film to develop, I get depressed when I haven't taken pictures in a while.. ahahah. It's definately one of my biggest passions.

What are your favourite subjects?

I mostly love photographing people. I find the human nature - with all it's flaws and quirks - very interesting due to it's complexity. I love it when someone can just be honest in front of the camera - it's not easy to find these people, though.

At the end of the day, though, my all time favorite subject is light. You couldn't really photograph without it, anyways. ahaha Plus, I love light flares, they're just magical.

What else do you do besides photography?

Well, I'm an aspiring actress. Unfortunatelly i'm not doing anything as one at the moment, but I will be, soon. Also I love singing... and dancing. I love writting on my little notebooks. Other than that I just love spending time with my family and friends, even though I also really like (and need) spending time alone as well.

What is the photo you'd dream to take?

I have no Idea. ahaha I keep changing interests and "style" so, it's really hard to dream of taking any type of picture, cause I know that it will change in some months - tomorrow, even! So, I don't really dream of taking any picture in specific. I just wish to keep growing and to be better. I dream of being as good as some photographers I look up to. :)
